Goals

So much to do.
Work on edits for TCH
Write at least 500 words in TaT
Read someone else’s work
Work on webpages
Dance for exercise
Finish pool repairs, paint, fill with water

Oh, and finish the dreaded 1040, Schedule C, Schedule E, and Form 4562 x 2.

Set your goals and get busy, peeps!

Ugh.  It’s that time of year when we have to sit down and sort through all of our business expenses.  Normally, I would tally all the deductions and fax it off to our accountant, but after 15 years this is the first time the economy has forced us to do our own.
Writing expenses are rather [...]

The day got away from me.  I don’t sleep well at night, but I seem to be more tired than usual.  I think it must be all the pine tree pollen swirling in the air.

On a positive note, I had a breakthrough on a scene over which I’d been stewing.  It’s not even a scene [...]

The Southern Lights Conference was a huge success.  Mary Buckham and Dianna Love were awesome and I highly recommend their workshop, Break Into Fiction ®, for everyone–no matter what stage of your writing journey.  I watched many published authors taking copious amounts of notes right along with the unpublished.

My posse and I discussed a plethora [...]

This past week has been an emotional roller coaster–in the kiddy section of the amusement park.  No big highs or lows, but just enough to make me feel I’m on a ride of some sort.  Isn’t it strange how so many strangers can experience the same emotions in this crazy, whacked-out querying world?

The Southern Lights [...]

Dagnabbit all. I keep oscillating on this entering contests thing. As a small speck in the Great Query Flood of 2009, I fear my search for an agent may drown me. Writers, such as I, have very few recourses for presenting our work to acquiring editors. The only avenue open to us are agents, contests, [...]

I think we all know how important goals are, so I’ll not harp on it.  I’m just popping in to say I met the pressure-washing the pool one!  I’ve been too busy in other important writerly (not a real word, but I like it) pursuits to open TCH in the last couple of days, hone [...]

We intended to scope out a Gulf beach we’d never been to, but apparently the freaking bridge is out until the Fall of 2009.  Fine by me…it was a perfect day for working outside.

Before heading out the door to pressure wash the pool this morning, I picked up the newest issue of RWR (Romance Writer’s [...]

Loglines & Goals

Good grief, my mind’s been all over the place today.  Rather than burn myself out on TCH, I decided to work on the logline for SS.  The blurb is great, but condensing that down to one sentence is killing me.  Oh, it can be done, but what I’ve got so far shows no pizzazz.

An [...]

The revisions on TCH are going, but very slowly.  I’m so glad this isn’t the story in the submission phase.  It’s important for me to fix this one, though.  It was the first story I ever wrote, but then it became the third in the series when I wrote two prequels to it.  And TCH [...]
